17th Annual African American and Latino/a American Adult Education Research Symposium
This year's conference theme is "Social Outcry Continues: Civil Disparity, Cultural Commodification & Social Distancing Affecting Communities of Color," which coincides with the mission of the Symposium Executive Committee.
The mission of the symposia over the years has been to raise the level of awareness regarding social issues that have had detrimental societal impacts on Communities of Color.

The African American and Latino Student Leadership Conference
Presented by the Illinois African American and Latino Higher Education Alliance (IALHEA), this conference's theme is "A Place of Our Own: Social Justice in Illinois Higher Education." The goal is to inform African American and Latino students of the unique contribution of African American and Latinos in the quest for access to Illinois public and private institutions of higher education (two and four year colleges and universities); and to inculcate leadership skills and values in order to counteract continuing assaults to higher education for traditionally under-represented groups.

The Joint Professional Development Conference and Student Research Forum
Presented by the Illinois African American and Latino Higher Education Alliance (IALHEA), this conference's theme is "Diversity: The Assault on Traditionally Underrepresented Groups." The goal is to combine the annual professional development conferences of the Illinois Latino Council on Higher Education (ILACHE) and the Illinois Committee on Black Concerns in Higher Education (ICBCHE); and to increase African American and Latino networking, mobilization, and advocacy on issues pertaining to the concerns of traditionally underrepresented groups in higher education in Illinois.
